C.O.P.A. in the Dominican Republic.
New Hope United Methodist Church has been involved in mission in the Dominican Republic for over 20 years. Our church is a long-time sponsor of Connie DiLeo, a United Methodist missionary in the Dominican Republic. With Connie’s help, we work through C.O.P.A. (Community Partners Association) to help in two villages located on the southwestern corner of the D.R. These two villages (Bombita and LaHoya) are representative of some of the poorest villages in the Dominican Republic.
Each summer, a mission team visits the area. This year's trip is July 9-16. Our current team is filled! Please pray for us as we put on a camp for approximately 100 youth from the villages of Bombita and LaHoya.

Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty. The ministry releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. The goal is for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult.
Through their the child sponsorship program (for children 4-21) and the child survival program (for children 0 to 3), children living in poverty around the world receive access to education, healthcare, and connection with a local church where they can be protected, nurtured, and learn about Jesus. People from New Hope UMC Brandon currently sponsor almost 120 children, predominantly in Ethiopia.
